Born and raised in Santa Cruz, William has been playing volleyball since middle school and when he found out Santa Cruz High didn't have a men's volleyball team he made it his journey to restart the program. In 2005, he reintroduced men's volleyball to Santa Cruz High. William continued his volleyball career at Sonoma State University where he became the setter and libero for the University club team.

After freshman year he transferred to the University of Montana where he continued to play club volleyball for the University. William graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Psychology. In addition to school, he became head coach for Fury U16 Girls Travel volleyball league in Montana for two years.

After 6 years of living in Montana it was time to move back to the sunny coast of California. William moved to San Diego January of 2017. Prior to Epic Volleyball, he was head volleyball clinician for USYVL (United States Youth Volleyball League) for the San Diego district.

Not only has William coached volleyball, but he has been head soccer, swim and baseball coach for various leagues in the Bay Area. On his free time, he enjoys playing other sports such as soccer, baseball, swim, and tennis. Lastly, he continues to play volleyball in various competitive leagues.
