Shawn has been coaching for 20 years and with Epic Volleyball Club for the past seven. Shawn has shown great versatility here at Epic by coaching teams in our 12's, 14's, 15's, 16's and 17's level's. Last year Shawn coached our 17-2 team as well as assisted the 14-1 team.
From 1998 to 2000, he coached girls 18s and 16s at Boulder Volleyball Club. During this time, he also coached each summer at the Nike Volleyball Camps held in Denver, working with players 13 through 18 years of age.
Starting in 1997, he was the assistant coach for the women's team at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, a Division II program. In 2000, he became head coach and served in that capacity until 2008. Under his guidance, the team had great success, including winning their conference division three times, the overall conference championship once, as well as winning the SouthWest Regional Championship and making it to the Division II Elite Eight. In that championship year, he was named Southwest Region Coach of the Year. Shawn's teams were recently inducted into Western State College Hall of Fame.
In 2007, Shawn was invited to be the head coach of the USA Colorado Girls Junior Regional Team, an all-star team that competed in Florida against top foreign and U.S. junior teams.
Shawn is married to his wife Stacey and has a seven year old daughter named Sybil.
