Roni Greenwood

Roni grew up in San Diego and went to college at Northern Arizona University where she got a degree in Elementary Education. For the past eight seasons Roni has been coaching at her Alma Mater, Scripps Ranch High School. She has been the girls and boys varsity assistant. This year is Roni's third season as the head coach of the Scripps Ranch High School Women's Varsity Team. Her first year as head coach, the women's team qualified for Open Division in CIF and had a record of 23-10. Roni also teaches 5th grade at McKinley Elementary. At Epic, Roni has coached the Epic girls aged 12 - 15. In 2014, her 15-Roni team finished in 14th place finish at Volleyball Festival and in the gold division in Southern California.

Roni graduated from Scripps Ranch High School in 2005 where she was a four-year letter winner, three-year starter and two-year captain. She helped the team win two straight Division II CIF Championships in 2003 and 2004. Roni was Second Team All-Western League 2003 and 2004 and First Team All-CIF 2003 and 2004. She was a Union Tribune Prep Athlete of the Week in October of 2004 and All-Academic Team 2003 and 2004. Roni was also the Scripps Ranch Tournament MVP in 2004 and played in the San Diego County All-Star game in May 2005. In club volleyball, Roni played on 15-1, 16-2, 17-1 and 18-1 teams coached by Epic head coach Pat Bonner and Mike Bonner.

At Northern Arizona University, Roni played libero her freshman and sophomore seasons and outside hitter her junior year. Due to off-season shoulder surgery, Roni was not able to play her senior season. Her junior year, she ranked second on the team with 184 kills, second in service aces with 25, and third on the team with 208 digs. She recorded 10 or more kills on six occasions and tallied a career-high 13 kills in the first match of the season, a 3-2 win over UC Davis. She got a double-double with 15 digs and 12 kills in a 3-1 win over Duquesne. Roni was also four-time Golden Eagle Scholar Award winner, two-time Big Sky All-Academic Team Recipient, and a captain her sophomore season.

Roni loves coaching at Epic and hopes to give her players the same wonderful opportunities that she was given there as a player!!
