Mike is coming back to Epic for his 17th year of coaching junior volleyball, after spending the last five years with Orange County Volleyball Club. While at OCVBC Mike coached every age group except the 15's and ran numerous clinics. He qualified several teams for the Junior Nationals, and last year his team took 5th place in the Patriot Division.
In 2010 at Epic, his 15-1 won the Far Westerns Qualifier and went on the participate in the Open at Junior Nationals.
In the 2009 season Mike coached our 16-1 team taking them to a 4th place finish at Volleyball Festival. Mike also coached our 17 Girls regional team this year. In seasons past, Mike has coached multiple teams for Epic; leading our 15-1 & 14-2 teams, while assisting our 17-1 team.
Mike is also the Head Coach of 12 & Under Non Traveling Program, where he gives young kids a strong technique base. He has been the Head Coach for our Girls Fall Training Program, and leads various Epic Summer Camps, where he enjoys working with a variety of kids.
In 2008 Mike, along with fellow Epic Coach Steve Lamb; captured the first Volleyball Festival Championship for Epic winning the 15 & Under Championship. While also coaching our 14-2, and assisting our 17-1 to qualifying for the Junior Olympics.
In 2004 Mike's 15-1 team placed 2nd at Volleyball Festival. In 2006 Mike coached our 17-1 team and Assisted our 15-1 team; both teams placed 3rd at Volleyball Festival. In 2007, Mike coached our 15-1 team to a 5th place, and our 14-2 to a 37th place finish at Volleyball Festival.
Mike was the First Assistant for the Women's team at Alliant International University during the 2002-2003 season.
On the High School scene, for the 05 & 06 season Mike helped out his good friend, Luis Cuatok, at Westview High School, helping Westview capture their first CIF Championship in 06. This year you will see Mike on the referee stand during the high school, and college season.
Mike is an avid golfer, and Wing Chun practitioner and is extremely involved in the Wing Chun Against Bullying Campaign!
